El Espíritu De La Sol: A Poetic Ode to Spiritual Radiance by Witos

El Espíritu De La Sol

In the sun, I feel as one

In the rain I see her too

And in both, I see you

Your hands guide droplets of sap and jewels

A hummingbird percussionist plays

The caressing of your cheek

Moisturized

Praise the copper reef

Spinning from the spines of a tree

Sprung upon the crevices of your curves

Wrapped into a halo of a forgotten deity

Do you hear the whispers?

Have you fashioned the same spirit of the sun?

Droplets and sun kisses on your scalp

You know you are loved

This is your dawning

Your amethyst crusade

Just glow.

Glistening of final forms

A golden fawn of sequenced starlight

Two mini moons

Orbit your refined antlers

Six steps beyond

Your seedling footprints

Sing melodies of delightful nostalgia

You may spin jubilantly

Until you become the sun, the rain

More yourself

Complete the star sign

And rise.

Rise evermore.

Witos (he/him) is a Queer Hispanic poet from Massachusetts. He's an INFJ, Gemini, and most of all, a Babylonian Babe.

A mystical picture of a light skinned person with short hair and their eyes closed as droplets of water fall around them, illuminated by an unseen light source.
