Lachlan Thompson

Lachlan Thompson is known for delving into the realm between public and private memory. As an artist and organizer, they transform collections of oral stories, photography, poetry, archival, and folkloric material into fantastical collages – illustrating connections between who we are, where we come from, how we belong, and how the stories we share shape our past, present and future.

The roots of Lachlan’s creative work can be traced to organizing spaces led by queer and trans survivors of sexual and domestic violence — using art as a way to heal, educate, and build community care networks. Inspired by the creative lineages of resistance and resilience of survivors, Lachlan began Fortuna Major Press to forge space for creatives, storytellers, healers, and organizers to shift narratives of who and what belongs within the art and publishing world.
