The Hanged Man
SURRENDER, SACRIFICE, CHANGED PERSPECTIVE, METAMORPHOSIS

The Hanged Man is an acrobat.
Suspended from golden silks, he has learned how to work with the forces which shape and direct his movement. He can wrap himself, drop, swing, and spiral through nearly any position he can imagine – relying upon the skill he has honed to carry him through this dance of surrender.
The Hanged Man has consciously chosen a path which puts him at the whims of centrifugal force. He is one who has learned not only to appreciate the endurance and sacrifice required for his craft, but to relish in it. To create a compelling performance, he risks not only failure but injury, again and again. Yet, when he succeeds in his endeavours, he alchemizes his sacrifice and vulnerability into a divine scene.
The Hanged Man courageously chooses changed perspective. He holds a portal into the turbulent waters of emotion and memory, and immerses himself within it – yet he does not get lost. This too, has come from repeated practice. He has become an expert at the resilience of breaking through; at bearing witness to all that he has endured and cohabitating with it in his performance. In this dance of return and release, he has found liberation.
What The Hanged Man chooses to do is not comfortable, nor is it easy. But it is necessary for him. It is a divine calling to turn inward and understand the world around him through his portal-like movement between the past, present, and future.
If The Hanged Man has come into your life it is time to evaluate your relationship to surrender and sacrifice. Do they bring you power, or do they strike you to the core with fear?
