April Crowley is a multi-faceted performing arts administrator and fundraising professional. Her passion (and current research interest) is getting art on stages even when it feels too risky, financially or otherwise. She is currently enrolled in the Arts and Cultural Leadership Master's - U of M program and entering the semester where she will be writing her capstone project (comparable to a master's thesis).
April’s research is focused on what strategies generate investment in new performing arts work created by underrepresented artists. She is focusing on strategies in fundraising, audience development, and programming. Ideally, she would like this project to result in a practical risk-management framework for arts and cultural workers that makes it easier and more sustainable to produce new, innovative, and/or politicized performing arts work.
If it sounds like this project is relevant to the work you do as an artist or cultural sector worker, April would like your perspective! She is seeking 6-9 interviewees who do this work to contribute their knowledge to her research project.
Please reach to April Crowley directly through their university email (crowl320@umn.edu) if you have questions or would like to participate.
