Get The Kids Reading: A Roots Strong Book Drive
Roots Strong believes that at the roots of all sustainable change in the world is our youth. Inspired by the upbringing and rich heritage of her parents in Jamaica, founder Lyndsay Archer established Roots Strong in 2015 in hopes of empowering youth and their communities through advancing access to necessary resources that are imperative to the development of children. In the fall of 2026, Roots Strong will be hosting its first-ever Free Book Fair.
Artist Reception: Kerry St. Laurent’s Stitched Through the Seven Sisters
Stitched Through the Seven Sisters is a location-specific series about honoring an almost-daily practice of communing with nature as visual artist Kerry St. Laurent stitches herself through her local trail system. Matte hot press photographic prints are layered with matte gouache that nods to mapping and ink and colored pencil stitching that references both woven comfort and the idea that wandering counters life’s unraveling and knits us back together.

Public libraries exist to connect people to ideas, stories, and the history of the communities they serve. Throughout our local history collection, you'll find photographs, newspapers, letters, and other records that document moments that shaped Montague and the surrounding area. Together, they tell the story of who we are. In this spirit, The Montague Public Libraries have been a place for local authors and artists of all backgrounds to gather and foster conversations through their creative work. And, much like our local history collection, this exhibit carefully documents the diversity of perspectives that exist within Montague and Franklin County at large.

Shea Presents: Hani Thompson Rituals Album Release in the Shea's Lounge
The Shea Theater is pleased to present an evening night with local hero Hani Thompson as part of the Foyeur Enjoyment in the Shea’s Lounge series.
Hani Rosenbaum Thompson is a visual artist and musician based in Massachusetts, originally from New York. Hani’s first solo album, “Rituals” was released on November 8, 2025 with Echo Base Production (in part funded by the Massachusetts cultural council).
River Valley Radical Futures: Exhibition Opening at the Taber Art Gallery
Curated by Alix Gerber, Designing Radical Futures has spent the last few years working with area artists, worker co-operatives, and mutual aid groups to imagine a future with completely different social systems and economies. Community workshops with partnering groups focused on how their missions and values might change the world around them. Drawings and stories from these workshops were the source material for the artwork on view, creating physical manifestations for a possible future
